1996 White Mitsubishi FTO GR (Auto)
- Very well looked after - I have owned the car for approx 8 years (However, has mostly been driven by my wife)
- First and only Australian Owner.
- Full service history.
- New battery.
- 6 months rego.
- 141,000 Kms
Only issue I ever had with the car was the throttle body, which has since been replaced a couple of months ago. She now purrs like the day I bought her.
Reluctant sale - upgrading to a family vehicle to make way for kids on the way.
I am not sure what the going price should be so would appreciate offers and advice from some of the old timer members of the site.
I'll upload pics later tonight.

Just MY opinion but i think about 5-6k for it would be a reasonable price but chuck it up for 8 or so and see what you get (this is all variant on the actual condition of the body and running of the engine etc)

Agreed. If you have kept records of everything and it still runs fine, looks fine, everything works etc. then putting it up for 8k and taking 6-7k for it is reasonable.
I fix cars.

Re: 1996 White Mitsubishi FTO GR (Auto)
yeah sure does.
Love my car and don't want to sell it, but there is no use for it since my wife and I work at the same place we travel together..
Money inst really the issue for me, its more the sentimental value.
The car has seen me through uni, many chicks, marriage and has always been reliable...
Even though I posted the for sale thread, I still haven't completely convinced myself I want to sell...
Thanks for the input though guys, much appreciated.
The next few days will tell if Im going to keep it or not.
The dealer I am buying my new car from has offered me a trade in (which is actually a devastating price)...

Here are some pics. The double din head unit was removed (but I still have it packed away). Also the glove box hinges have been replaced too.

That is a ridiculously clean car mate, GL with the sale - you should see 7k easily (assuming the engine is as good as the car)

After seeing the pics Id have to agree with taz definitely dont sell for less than 7 id say you could probs get about 9 its very rare to see a car in THAT good condition especially a FTO they are usually all battered and bruised.

Re: 1996 White Mitsubishi FTO GR (Auto)
Thanks for all the comments guys, yes - I have looked after my FTO pretty well.... and driven it with limit.
I got a call this morning from the dealership and was advised my new car will be ready for pick up tomorrow so I have been wrecking my brain all day today trying to decide what to do.
I called the dealership back this afternoon and asked what would be the outcome if I decided not to trade in my FTO, he was quiet understanding and advised that its fine and he will just remove the FTO from the sales contract and I just pay the difference.
After thinking about this all day (and still trying to focus on my work) Im leaning towards keeping my FTO.
So, It will be another day of thinking deeply about this before I go to the dealership...
Dont want to let it go!!!

What's the trade in value?
I'd never do a trade in personally
