Post by Daniel2019 »

Is it possible to fit a pod filter inside the stock airbox? I know it wont do anything except sound different, just curious!

Stupid question im guessing? I keep reading different things on laws and pod filter fits and sh*t. Ive seen several guides on how to fit it inside the stock airbox using two clips and some "modifying" of the airbox but Im not exactly sure how difficult it would be with an FTO, or possible at all.

 bit harsh

Do a search, pretty sure I've read it has been done, but don't think you will see a lot of benefit. Better off just getting a better quality panel filter, such as a K&N. Again do a search but I'm pretty sure I've read there is a K&N part number that fits.

I believe the K&N Panel Filter - 33-2072 fits, however I was pretty keen on a pod. Cheers

i think with the p-plate laws you cant do any mods to the air filter although there are a sh*t load of p-platers with pods. it could be worth the risk as most people actually dont know it is illegal in the first place lol

It is only illegal if it is not secured properly and has no shield

yep must be enclosed as far as I know, which is why I wanted to try fit it in the stock airbox and maybe cut the bottom panel off the box, so it looks like its properly enclosed but really isnt..

I drive an FTO on my red Ps, cops arent lenient like that. I know its just a filter, probably wont even give any gains without cold air intake but cops feel the need to pick on people like me. Believe me, if I had it my way the f**king thing wouldve been put on uncovered as soon as I got my car..

Did it need much modification or was it a pretty easy fit with using two clips?
