Anyone else felt their Fto Shaking?

Post by Ftowner »

Im just wondering if this is a common problem, or if its just my tyres or something else. Its usually when im going up a hill and im just slightly on the accellerator going around 40 - 60 km/h, after a while the car starts shaking and i have to either accellerate a bit more or take my foot off the accellerator and it stops shaking its very odd and doesnt happen that often but im wondering if anyone else gets this or if its just the weird tyres the dealer put on?

........ if it's a manual, try lowering your gear?..
Sounds like you're in the wrong gear and the car is struggling..

Could it also be a misfire because the engine is under too much load with not enough spark my Celica had that kind of problem at low acceleration with high load I just had to replace the plugs

Its an automatic so it cant be a gear problem. Im hoping its the tyres but if it is the "mounts" what can i do to fix this? Or how can i diagnose it?

Duno why nobody has responded to this....
If it's the mounts they need to be replaced. As for a diagnosis, I guess you'd have a geez and to see of they're worn/damaged....
Never replaced engine mounts before lol.

Does the transmission fluid have a burn smell? If so best to have it checked out buy a specialist.

If your car is a 95-98 and you have not changed your mounts there are stuffed. I don't need to see them and can guarantee they are stuffed.

Generally the side mounts start to crack at the rear side of the mount and start to say. Once this happens your engine literally rests on your front and rear mounts causing them to sh*t themselves, which causes the vibration.

Even if you replace the rear mount it will still vibrate. Get a manual one or fill in the gaps of an auto mount and the vibration stops.
