Removing a Type-F Auto Gearshift Lever

Hey All, I need help removing a Type-F Auto Gearshift Lever i.e:

I have one exactly like above but cannot figure out how to do it in reverse. I get the top off and the sleeve but am left with the aluminium part of it. I need to get into that section so I can fix my "-+ sign that has fallen inside

Never mind...........

Couldn't get the Leaver off but managed to work around it by taking everything else apart. Now if only I could find some superglue..
