Leather Seat Covers - You'll wanna read this
OK all ..
Have met my supplier in Indonesia, and I have the first set of leather seat covers in possession !!!
So I should be home in just over a week, so I can see how well they fit ... I did have a bit of drama's with the suppilier, but think I have sorted the most of it out...
I will see how good they fit, then, if I am happy with them I will start to investigate importing... Only reason I want to see what they fit like first, is that many of you who know me, know how fussy I am about the car.. So, if it is the slightest bit out, I will ether have to find someone else, or abandon the idea of importing, and manufactor myself...
I still hope to have the fully landed price for front and rear to be below $500 ... At the end of the day, the shipping and import tax is going to be the breaker ...

Re: Leather Seat Covers - You'll wanna read this
They call it Leather over here... But not sure if that is because there is no local word for "leatherette"..
Either way, I would say it is a blend, or a lower grade leather... It is what they use over here, have seen it last on cars for 10+ years... And given how much time you spend in the car stuck in traffic, it is a great test of quality of material..

Seat covers are packed in the luggage.. Lol..
Supplier advised it is a "man made leather". 9 out of 10 cows prefer this to their own skin.. So I am told..
Had a good look at them today whilst packing, and I am quite impressed at the moment.. Hope they fit.. Lol..

Yo all..
Have not been to bed since Thursday night.. So running a little low here...
Will get some pics now... But yeah, already found one problem ... He hasn't matched the zipper style pull over.. He has made it all 1 piece, but has also added elastic so it can be tied down, as well as pinned in like the stock ones.. Yet to see how that fits.
Promlem:
He has not accounted for the harness holes in the seat... Obviously "copy this exactly" doesn't translate too well in Indonesian...
Only noticed this today ...But a minor problem I should be able to sort...
Fitting:
Hopefully next weekend, I will get to play around with them ... But have heaps to do at the moment, and I konw my first week back at work is going to be frantic...
*runs to take some photo's*

Re: Leather Seat Covers - You'll wanna read this
OK .. So here we go ...This is the rough look ... Like I ssaid, not sure how well they will fit, but I am yet to play with them, and give my feedback to the supplier ... So, this may take a while ...
As for colour, there is a tan option, as this is a very popular colour in Indonesia ...
My cat also seems to like the quality:

Front seats (Front + back)

Bottom Front (close)

Top Front (Front + back)

Top Front (inside)

Rear

Rear (close up)

Close up stitching

Let me know thoughts...

Looks pretty good quality, except for the harness hole they missed
.
Matching the tan may be a problem as there are a bunch of different shades of tan. Surely they would have some off cuts of all the different tans they have that I can use to match the tan wouldn't they?

Re: Leather Seat Covers - You'll wanna read this
The fit and quality on these seat covers is amazing.
Was a since to slide them on and have them sit nice and snug. Even pulled some of the worn foam back in.

Only problem I have found is:-
1) they didn't cut the centre out, so you loose the harness holes. But in looking at the seat, I kind of like it.
2) they dont have a sleeve in the back of the cover, for a metal rod to slip through and pull it right into the base.
We pinned the seat from the outside, and the material pulls in nice and tight..
So next step is to see if I can do that myself, then communicate how to do it in Indonesian..
