My brakes need doing, just a quick question, at malacoota i think steve said race brakes pads were the ones to go, just need to check the name and find out if they r available in melbourne and approx price if possible
you can mail order from racebrakes themself via phone, but due to my rather annoying incidents with them I would recommend calling Mercury Motorsport(search the web for their page/phone no)...they were as cheap as racebrakes were(including the upcoming ftoaustralia discount) and im sure i would have had more success in the service department..
thats just my opinion and i know others on the club who have had great success with racebrakes directly, but my 2c is to go through a different distributor(ie mercury)

Just a quick reminder to choose brakes based on how you actually drive. Going for more of a racing pad can actually make your braking ability and safety worse in normal traffic situations
Ethan, judging by the number of times you locked up your brakes during the Mallacoota cruise, i'd say they still work so don't worry about it mate, LoL...
but i'm thinking of getting the same pads but I'm waiting for larger rotors as well, but the noisy squeals and amount of dust is turning me off... maybe I might just upgrade to factory brembos altogether

I've got the DBA slotted rotors with RB74 on my fronts and I don't get squeeling....yet.
But before when I had standard rotors with RB74s, it squeeled like anything. That was also because the RB74s had created hot spots on the standard discs from hard braking. In terms of dust, I think it's bearable.
well im gunna bleed my brake lines over the weekend as the pads feel really spongy so ill c how well they come up after that, still interested in gettin race brake pads with udgraded rotors but!!
Ive got DBA golds too.. but they Squeal like .... Squeal!!!
They do create allot of brake dust, i mean two days and a couple of trips and my mags need a clean.the dust is not the kind that sticks to your mags.
Ive got white mags so i do notice the dust allot.
Also getting my rotors replaced with something like dba kangaroo paw slotted.. hopefuly.
a. your tyres are sh*t
b. your driving style needs some work
c. you follow to close
d. your rotors are in really bad shape and have a habit of snatching on your brake pads
RB74`s with DBA slotted rotors on the front with racebrakes Comp 2`s on standard rotors on the back. This is by far the best braking setup for the FTO. I tried numerous pads and they would only last one track day. My latest 74`s have done 2 track days and still have a heap on them.
Slither- The reason your brakes are spongy is that they are probably worn. I used to find this after a track day with standard pads.
