Im officially on the market for suspension. Wasn't too impressed with the inspection of the current stock setup when i went in for my service today, sh*tty brissie roads dont take kindly to stiff suspension (and lack of care on my part )
Two front's are farked, one leaking, one on its last legs it looks like before it starts causing other problems, so i might as well spend the $$$ now to avoid any future problems

I want a full 4 set of adjustable coilovers.

What do you guys think - yay or nay?
Ive read through the suspension thread and there seems to not be much at all for current prices or complete coilover kits.
Can i somehow get a better deal somewhere else ?

Also - does the GPR have mcpherson strut/s or whatever they are? Have no idea

Ill say again, ive already read the suspension thread. There is screw all that i can personally gain out of that thread as there is a lot of talk about sway bars and individual suspension parts etc etc but next to nothing on complete coilover kits in todays market.
I am asking if said kit is a good price for what it is and if its a good move why is it so hard for people to say a simple yes/no.
Silver, i have searched numerous keywords but none state what i want to know or return too many results to comb through over simply asking.
Awaiting someone who can actually give me useful information..might have to wait a while

Meanwhile, why don't you post in the suspension thread, or atleast in the relevant section.
And if you searched for BC Racing, you would find a lot of results, as I can think of 3 threads currently off the top of my head with reference to them, and about them.

One thread to come to mind is AJ's HKS build as he had them installed, another is in relation to the suspension thread in the tech area about coilovers vs conventional, and another, I believe but could be wrong is Simons thread about his car.

Unless you are looking to adjust your height regularly, just get some springs man and change the shocks.

Set you back like $700 max as opposed to $1200 or whatever the BCs are going for these days.

The stock setup on our GPvRs is more comfortable than any coilover you'll get plus they handle like a go cart as is.

The only coilovers I would recommend are good quality ones. Meaning you can scrap D2,G4,BC and whatever else you find on eBay. Go for Cusco or Tein - and make sure you have them sprung & revalved to suit Australian road conditions

If you seriously have 20 grand to throw at this car, spend 5 on suspension.

Less than $2k gets you a set of Cusco's FTW.

From all accounts the BC Racing are OK but if you want quality and you want em to last why f**k around with eBay sh*t. Tein are also good but they no longer list a decent upgrade for the FTO, but if you can pick up an old set of the Type HA's these are pretty good!

If you want performance coilovers buy a set of Cuscos.

Why lowered springs? My car is stock height and it's too low for me. The front bottoms out even on flat guttars. :p

Ty shane, have never looked at suspension before other than top of the line cusco and hks. However I can't justify spending 4k on suspension with the car in its current state. ive been looking at a few different coilover sets and 1.3k looks like a good price, and they were in box so I thought I'd ask before spending the moolah, looked at the bc site they seemed like t.hey are not too bad. I really cant be bothered replacing bits and pieces of thetower, and possibly to find I need to replace everything onit. Much easier to spend a few hundred more and get the wole thing replaced. Just want something thats reasonable that will last me until I can upgrade to top shelf. Can anyone suggest any other alternatives for that price range if these bc ones are rubbish

Like I said, less than $2k for a set of Cusco Zero1's, or a bit over $2K for Zero 2's. Not much more than you're looking at spending for the BC's and a long way from $4K!
