In all fairness I think in reality you'd be better off bring your car to stock, selling it, then shipping the good parts over to Australia and buying an FTO here.
To give you an idea though I inquired a while back and to send a car from Australia to Cyprus it was roughly 12K AUD.
So yeah, not worth it unless it is some really expensive and/or priceless car (at least to you)

Compliance would be a real issue for you. They have to be taken back to stock to be complied so you can drive it. Im guessing that this would be an issue.

buy the exact same car here, swap over engine # plates etc etc, get it passed, swap vin plates back over, done.

do not use said info as a guide to importing a car into the country, it will fail.

That sounds too cheap. Even getting a car from UK to Cyprus is about 1000 euros, and I think that is not in a container.
Of what I understand your car will get damaged/parts stolen unless you lock it in a container and insure it.

End result is it really isn't worth shipping your car, Australia is simply too far

It would cost around $3,000 I'm guessing to ship it.
It costs around $3000-$4500 to ship a car from Australia to the USA.

Your best bet as mentioned is returning your car to stock and shipping all the aftermarket parts here.

I had a quote of about £1200 roll on roll off from the UK so about $2000 just for shipping.
The issue was the import tax and compliancing it and my car had rust, plus wasn't really standard.
There's all sorts of bills when you land the car that you may/may not have to pay, I reckon it would have been about another $2000-$3000 on top of shipping.

I did initially but had loads of other costs like shipping furniture and the kids air fares (I know - get your priorities right!).
But then again I think with some time and a little cash I can make this one even better, i'm liking the 5 speed box a lot better than the 4 and the suspension feels a lot better, my supercharged one had 340000KM's on when I sold it so was a bit long in the toothe.

Why would you send it out of curiosity? It doesn't seem like you want to sell it?
