ABS problem..still.

Post by crazyeyedgoat »

not sure if ive flown it past anyone here but am still havin stupid abs problems.
Firstly theres a loud ticking sound that comes from the left wheel that increases and decreases in speed as i do, sometimes the sound isnt heard when either moving real slow or going fast. Secondly when braking (isnt a constant but only happens when abs light is off) i get a weird grinding/electrical sound and my brake pedal pumps back and forth slightly becoming harder the longer the noise lasts. on one occasion i did find that the noise wouldnt go away until i applied the brake. everytime this happens the ABS light turns on after and will stay on till i turn my car off.

Cheers to anyone who knows whats going on.

Seized brake caliper? Sounds similar to a problem I had, although I don't have ABS
LED ALL the things.

Hey man i think you should check your wheel bearings.
I had this issue in my car (Not an FTO though) The wheel bearing stayed intact but was buggered. The wheel would not shake when i had it jacked up and made this horrible grinding noise sometimes when on the freeway and was louder when slowing down and on freeway. It also ticked randomly before the massive grinding on the freeway when i parked it and got it towed home. Even the mechanic did not know what it was untill he took it apart then the mangled bearing was the cause.
The the abs would go funny on the car, especially in the wet just normal braking which was very scary most of the time. NOt sure on FTOs but my ABS sensor is part of the wheel bearing so thats why is was causing the issue.

I know dont have a FTO but sounded similar to my issue.
