Finaly--bought car !

Post by basho »

After more false starts than a pommy washing competition I've finaly bought !

I pick up on the 30th due to the airlines hammering $300.00+ fares from the Gold Coast to Sydney specialy for the post Easter week--this "who's on the cross now you bastards" attitude ensuring that they remain amongst Australias most loved businesses this Easter---yet again .

Here is a link to the car still at the dealers , and no I didn't pay near the ticket price  .

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeek- , this sounds ominous , anything diabolical to know about this car ?

I'm buying this long distance as it were so I'm taking a fair deal on faith.

I have paid a sensible deposit and am flying down on the 30th paying the balance cash and driving back to Surfers.

This seems as good a way as the import one myself gamble.

I realy don't want a tree through the head 8O

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh man, so funny when there's no context behind it.

All good Basho, was an incident as the bonfire couple of years ago.
Right after Rock it got me in the nuts, which no-one seems to remember, (cause I'm more a man and don't complain , hehe)

I think with Lawso it would be a funds factor.
If Rock it and Aza can attest to Lee's being good, then shouldn't be a problem...

MOTHERF**KING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seconded. edward lee is apparently a slime bag, mate bought a non turbo 33 gts from there. good car, but he was a massive slime bag when selling it to him. tried to sell me an fto when i just got my focus all those years back "yeah mate we'll change rego and fix it all up for ya, you won't have to pay much more on top of what you paid for your car we'll take a trade in" that sh*t...he wanted more money for n $11,000 fto, when my rents just bought me a $22,000 focus...f**k stick

didn't fix my mates CAS problem either. r33 was misfiring, took it back there, said it was lean fuel, tried to drive it home, 1 block down the road misfired so bad, had to take it back. mate had to wait about a month for them to get a new CAS from japan.

otherwise car hasn't had any problems

Eeek.

Basho I don't want to scare you or put you off buying that car because from the pictures at least it looks really nice, but Edward Lees have about the worst reputation in Sydney.

Do a search on evolutionoz, SAU, supraforums, nissansilvia and probably all the others and you will come up with countless stories of them being dodgy.

However that doesnt mean this is a bad buy. I'm just saying I would be very careful in dealing with them, and personally I would even pay to get an inspection done by stateroads or a forum member with plenty of experience.

Just my 2c. Hope I get proven wrong and you get a great buy.

i can come out have a look at the car with you, but i only know of the basic points to look out for on an fto, rather than the finer points. might want to pm aza_013 or rock_it or bennoz or AJ, or astron_boy. those guys have the widest knowledge of these cars

I just picked up father in-law last night.. So am on annual leave at the moment.. Only problem, is I think I am on a tight leash while he is here, so more time with him and no time with cars.. :(

Luckily, he goes back just before go carts.. :)
