TAPPING NOISES FROM ENGINE/help
Hello all.
This is my first post here, i own a 95 model GPX fto and jus wondering if the tapping noises are hurting my car. When i bought the car i got it nrma inspected and the inspector said that it was a common problem in most of the V6 fto's but wasnt anything jus probably one of the lifters or shims (not too sure) was out of alignment so it makes the tapping noise. Has anyone else had this problem or know what else this tapping noise could be?? any info would be much appreciated thanks...

I pick my car back up tomorrow from the mechanics, so I will let you know a rough cost. I am in Newcastle, so I can't help you with where to go, but really, any mechanic worth anything will be able to do it.
It would just be preferable to take it to someone who has done it before, but ultimately, just try and strike up a good relationship with a workshop so they will take that extra care of your baby when you hand her over. I think this is more important than anything.
Wherever you do take it, talk to them and let them know that you are looking for somewhere (and someone) to really look after your car. Repeat business is, after all, the key to growing a business so it is in their interest to make sure you are happy with what they do.
