hi all
i was just wondering how sure you are that whiteline rebrand koni shocks for their adjustables...

because according to a quote that i received from an australian supplier of koni adjustables, the whitelines are slightly cheaper....not by much...we're talking about $50 on the whole 4...but its still a saving...

oh and btw...i thought you might like to know the part numbers of the koni's....its taken me ages to find them

front right: 8741-1396RSPORT
front left: 8741-1396LSPORT
rear: 80-2714SPORT

The fronts come with the struts don't they?

yeah the fronts are struts....the rears are inserts...

can anyone actually confirm that whiteline adjustables are rebadged koni's?

it makes sense though...if i was gonna rebadge a product, id sell it slightly cheaper than the original too

when i last spoke to whiteline they did say they are based on koni's

you could save money by getting koni inserts in the front ones too like what i have...

Thinking of changing my shocks soon as well. I wouldn't mind getting Bilsteins, but I don't know if they make ones to suit our cars.

A member on the Queensland list has Bilsteins and Whiteline springs fitted to his FTO. The work was done by Fulcrum.

Not sure if he checks out these forums much to give an advice though......

Cheers

a quote from a whiteline dude:
The shock absorbers that you have enquired about are rebuildable. They
are actually Koni Shocks, built to our specifications and valving
requirements.

so i guess they are pretty much konis for a cheaper price

My gf changed hers not long ago to Koni sports with whiteline control low springs as her previous was too low and it keep scraping the road. It was $1,700 all up with fitting & labour at Jim Hunter down at Parramatta. She was quoted $1,900 for the full whiteline kit.

Hey G1,
So how much did you pay for your inserts for both front and back?
And would you have the part numbers by any chance?
Thanks

I just picked up my car from Fulcrum (in Brisbane) today and they want to put Koni's on the front. I mentioned about Whiteline and they said they don't often deal in Whiteline struts, mainly strut braces, etc.
Just an interesting tit-bit.

when it comes to our cars, whiteline struts are pretty much koni's ... i bought them and they came packaged in koni boxes... without a trace of whiteline branding at all

Hey all,

I'm also in the midst of getting the Konis adjustable shocks.

For the people that have these, how do you find them, in terms of ride comfort, handling, and also if they altered the height of your car in anyway?

Simon, are the part numbers you quoted definately the correct ones? Because I was told slightly different numbers for the fronts. ie 8740-1396
Also, did you get the Konis progressive bump stops with them?

I originally planned to get Bilsteins as well. But currently they won't do one-off orders. Minimum order of 20 required from Germany. Bummer! I've been liasing with the peeps at Sydney Shock Absorbers who is a major Australia Bilstein distributor and fit/service. Excellent people to deal with though.

Thanks Simon. Yeah the part numbers you got are correct. I spoke to Topperformance as well in Melbourne and they were able to verify them.
Have you fitted yours yet? How do you find them? Any qualms?

Hey G1.

Yeah I'm going to get the full set. I've got the price at work so I'll PM you them tomorrow morning hopefully, for the rears. Hopefully, I can bargain with the dude and get us an overall lower price.

Do you want them fitted as well? How are your KYB adjustable fronts holding up? Are they the AGX ones?

Time frame I'll looking at getting them is the week after next (Week beginning 25/10).

BTW, the place I'm going to get them (and fitted) are from these guys:

yeah i fitted mine a while ago.... no qualms at all... just make sure you adjust the rears to a setting that you know you'll like cos to adjust them you have to take the struts out... which isnt that hard... but a pain in the neck

if youre going to fit them yourself, let me know, i might be able to help...
