GTO Brakes...

Post by Shhtuart »

I may be looking at a GTO brake upgrade soonish.

I'd have the calipers.

So i'd be looking at the discs, pads, overhaul kit x2 and mounting brackets.

Discs I'm sure I could find an RDA make, pads EBC or similar, overhaul kit from camskill, braided hoses but the mounting brackets are looking to be expensive.

I found these two;

&

Does anyone who has the GTO brakes get custom mounts made up?

And if so, how much did it set you back?

Thanks :D

Expensive hassle when you can get the 330mm UAS kit for around $1500. Comes with everything.

That's actually pretty cheap for a set of custom brackets. The rb performance ones look better quality assuming that is a picture of the actual product. You would want to confirm pics and materials.

Agree with Ben though, much easier to go with a complete kit then doing it up yourself.

That said, do you really need a brake upgrade? I'm running standard brakes on the racecar, just with quality rotors and pads, and although I probably will upgrade the brakes one day, it's way down my list. Check out some of my vids, the stock FTO brakes are more than capable.

Also some controversial reading for you ;)
