Re: Engine mounts
I can get genuine ex Japan here in a couple of weeks for cheaper than Mitsubishi Australia. Would need chassis number to ensure we identify the correct ones as there are a number of different ones depending on the model

Re: Engine mounts
The FTO runs the same engines mounts as other Mitsububishis. Im pretty sure either the front or rears are from a mirage.

Re: Engine mounts
I remember olly buying engine mounts from a local mechanic and he fitted them in his car with no problems... So yeah, i think you're right about the mirage mounts... I think a CE Lancer too. I remember a member from the Mitsi club who's CE Lancer had a 6a12 Mivec bolt straight in - straight fit apparently...

Re: Engine mounts
^^ will depend on which mount. Best to look up your chassis code in ASA to be sure that you get the right ones. They're not cheap if you get it wrong

Re: Engine mounts
All engine mounts look identical from a distance. Given there are 2 or 3 variants for each in the FTO alone (and most of them are not interchangeable), youd want to be sure that they match.

Re: Engine mounts
^^ Listen to Ben & Dstocks, they know what they're talking about
You'd probably find they might look similar but on closer inspection there would be subtle but important differences. ie different offsets.
They also might fit, but might put undue pressure on other components due to slight differences that than could cause bigger problems and premature failure.
Pretty important to get the right ones

Re: Engine mounts
I Agree on the pressure on slightly different places and subtle differences...
They at least look the same on my hands, even doubted him. Not sure what the mounts were for though..
But yeah, havent actually thought about the pressure distribution...
My old engine mounts (facelift manual) are holding renzkuken's engine & transmission in place at the mo
(prefacelift tip). But that was only temporary until he gets the right ones from camskill or something.

Re: Engine mounts
The lower front engine mount insert is 0.5mm smaller in diametre from the Lancer to the FTO... enough to eventually make it a loose fit & a rattle, then a tear. There are some seriously small variations that can cause problems...
And besides, why would you put in a 4 cylinder engine mount, when you should be getting one to hold all that POWAAAAHH!! from a V6? Its un-Australian!
