Ok, so im bringing the car in to UAS for a timing belt service which they said is an all day job since the car has hit 100,000km... Going tomorrow(Thu 3/2/11) and will be there by 9am...

Now what the hell could I do while waiting? Any interesting things around 7hills? Would someone hang out with me ? lolz...

Hopefully though, they would allow customers to watch the job being done.. I'll just bring loads of food so I dont starve and some pineapple juice...

lol... where they are, there is exactly ZERO things to do

You could either walk round the corner to the Top Gun lead factory for a look, or keep on walking down to the Beer Factory in Tollis Place. Brew yourself a batch :D

Maybe I should get ignition leads...

But question, is uas going to have to remove the intake manifold ?

And, the fto leads in the top gun catalog, would it work for both mivec & non mivec?

Well to change the leads yes, you need to take off the manifold and gr & gpx ones are different, not sure about the ones you're talking about.

Tell John his 'poker buddy' said hello :)

Or you could buy some mags and spend some quality time with yourself in the toilets

Not a bad idea :| but i cant last over 25mins and the timing belt replacement is an all day job, and i would find something non erotic to do during the cooldown time anyway.. I might share it with the boys there so they can get a little bit more enthusiastic with their work though 8) ....

@Subs - I knew the manifold has to be removed for the plugs, I was just wondering if they had to take it off in the process of getting to the timing belt replacement(by the looks of it, they might not need to, unless there was a cam box leak).

and you dont have to remove manifold either but does make it easier with a little more freedom to move,

You will find its just a lengthy process nothing really interesting but a great way to learn

Prepare for pistons punching valves then!! The fto timing belt job is quite different in that its a v6 but mounted in a fwd platform ie south east.

Definitely a n00b. Extractors don't need to come off.

Thats what the guy said, but maybe he would've figured out that the extractors need not come off...
