Exhaust failed again even after chicken wire..

So i got defected on exhaust at 110 decibels and since then i have put on stock pipes and back muffler from the wheels back, only reason i didnt put stock pipe on from cat converter to rear wheels is because it was about 4 inches too short to fit as mine was after market so was pretty dissapointed.
I then shoved chicken wire in the exhaust tightly and it didn't do a hell of a lot.

So i set my appointment for the approves station in campbeltown which was 1 hour drive from penrith. And he tested my car; did the revving to 5625rpm infront of me and it was still hitting 95 and 100 when it backs off.

So i wasted 60 bucks and had to rebook...

What i want to know is how can i get it under 90 (legal limit) and have a really good sounding FTO. I want it to be really loud but a note that doesn't hit above 90 decibels.

Anyy help here or where abouts round penrith are good exhaust places would be fantastic.
I don't mind driving to get to a good place.

Any help much appreciated!

You what ?? Shoved chicken wire where ?

Dude, get a bloody metal plate, cut it into the flange shape/size of your cat flange, drill the two mount holes for the flange itself then just drill a couple of holes around the centre to let the gas through. Plenty of loud cars have done so..

Anyways, to solve your issue make sure you have a cat on your exhaust, no leaks etc.. then you can run two hotdog resonators (see if there is room to fit an oval mid muffler too, i can't remember if the floor pan of the FTO will allow for an oval mid muffler), then at the rear where there is plenty of room, run a very large good quality oval muffler or even better run a twin loop muffler. That should see you below 90 on accel/hold/decel.

Well that is a good read :D
Going from that info they did the test wrong if they reved the car up to 5900rpm
Should be 3200-3900rpm.

i did borrow a full stock system off steve but the middle bolt on section didn't fit my car :/
so i only have the rear part stock bolted on. It's all good now i got 2 hotdog mufflers welded in for 275 dollars.

haha I should have left the stock cat for you when you came to pick it up! Then you could have changed the whole system from the headers back.

Wait, my stock cat is no good: its been punched!

Oh and varex will fail the test too.

Anything user adjustable = tested at max flow/volume.

But what if they don't know?
(i.e. a not so easily found switch? lol)

The switch is on a remote. Can possibly be hidden. But one look at the butterfly valve and servo on the exhaust itself and its over

the guy quoted me 1g to get a good system from rear tyre bolt on back to tips
why so expensive for just that part of the exhaust? I'm thinking i might no sell my quad tips anymore and just put that on after i get past the test tomorrow morning

No way i can get a varex in the middle section where i have 2 hotdog mufflers? Or can it only be put in the back section, and would i need 2 one on each duel tip? aha

thanks in advance ;)
