New name for my JDM Performance parts website...
Hey guys.... I've been selling JDM performance parts for a couple of years now and was trying to work out a catchy name for my new website.
Currently it's www.tetsana.com, but I'm looking to change it to something more catchy.
It turns out that JDMCentral.com is available, so I wanted to see what people thought of it...

That might explain the lack of products...

It's better than "Tetsana"

I know. The reason for ditching the Tetsana title is for me to select something more catchy.
I thought JDM Central would be the best bet, considering most other names are taken.

My only suggestion from the limited marketing exposure I have is.., make sure people can tell from your name, what it us you do.. it is the golden rule that a lot of business ignore.. But it can link in to search engine optimization, and make you stand out in searches..
Also, devise the site as a brand, and stick to them as tour theme. This will also make the site more uniformed..

I just had to add it ......

That's the idea behind the name change. I wanted to change it to something reflective of what the business does. This is now the third business I've owned, so I've gone through the process before. I'd named it Tetsana Enterprise initially until I'd decided the direction the company would take. Tetsana will become the parent company once a new name is selected.

Yeah, that's known as SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation. By strategic use of certain meta tags, it makes the site rank higher in search results. Problem is, the whole SEO system is changing at the moment.

Sorry, I got caught on this bit and thought it was your current site (and as the name is the one you want to change, assumed it was the live one).Currently it's http://www.tetsana.com
Agree the new name is better. Are you sure noone else is using it. Seems like a fairly obvious one to go. As well as checking the URL, you should do a business name search to make sure noone else in the car scene is using, otherwise you may be asked to change the name down the track to avoid litigation. You just need to go onto the IP Australia website and go to the Australian Business Names register. You also should check the tradmark register to make sure you arent infringing any trademarks. If youve already done this then ignore.

Yeah, I've done the checks. Pretty much all that was left was JDM Central :S
Great advice to those starting out, though!

Let me know if you need help buying & hosting the domain. That's what I do for pocket money on the side. Cheap.

Too many jdmxxx imho... off top of my head, there's already jdmyard and jdmconcept and one or two more at least.
Or how about jdmy0! That would be kinda funny and catchy hehe.
What type of jdm stuff do you get as well ? Trd, Ralliart, Nismo, Jun, Tomei, HKS etc?

Re: New name for my JDM Performance parts website...
Bit of an update... I've set up the site and bought the domain name. I'm just waiting for my DNS hosting to finalise so that I can connect JDMCentral.com to the actual site itself.
For now, it's http://jdmcentral.myshopify.com/
All the items are able to be purchased, but I've still got some cosmetic changes to do to the site. EG: Get individual pics for the silicone products instead of the generic ones that I've got.
