CAI heat shield

Post by mosti »

I was checking the oil and sh*t like that today after i went for a drive down the street. Touch the filter and piping and it was on fire! I seriously need a heat shield box or something of the sought. Where can I get one made up in melbourne? If it wasn't for the RAM pipe sticking out the front I rekon my engine would be sucking in 110% hot air!

Well, there's DIY and then there's DIY :). If you're really not feeling up to it, then a maybe one of those flexible reflective tin-foil-type windscreen sun-shields from your local auto shop will do. Fit it around your pod, chop off the excess with a pair of scissors and secure with double sided tape! Voila! One heat shield.

RPW did make one, but they don't last too long, especially in Aussie heat.

Heatshield/box same type of sh*t.
Atm it's just piping > pod filter > RAM intake pipe from bumper to pod

Need a heat shield/box to keep the temp lower around the pod

Any ideas on how I can keep the shape if I use one of those sun shield things?
Like, how do I get it to stay in the shape of a box around the pod?

Idk if I'm making any sense

Double sided tape for the win :) make sure where you stick it to the engine bay is clean first. Then stick it to itself where you fold it.... Give it a go, it'll be easier than you think!
