write a letter

http://www.sdro.nsw.gov.au/

details are on there. Tell them that they were stolen earlier that night and that they were your last pair etc and the might let you go

Yeah you should definitely write a letter. If you have a clean record I reckon there's a quite high chance you will be let off.

My mates mum was fined for going 7km/h over the limit in her husbands car. She wrote a letter explaining that she hadn't driven a manual for 10 or so years and that she was not use to the gear changes etc etc and she was let off...

lol.

Hahah for the record I used to work for sdro and I highly doubt they will let u off any one can make up a excuse weither its true or not but it may be worth a shot if you word it right stating they were stolen and there was no rta and you were driving to the servo to pick up some temp ones befor you could pick some up the next day at the rta or shop

And yea I was fined for no p plates in a security car with only the front 2 seats so no way to have more then 1 person and no street over about 80 in 20kms so stupid im classed as a pro driver but still have to use p plates

Sorry to say.. But that excuse has been used by many a P Plater, and has been an outright fabrication of the truth.. Now, I am not saying you are telling a lie, but think of how many people will not believe this..

Your obligation is to make sure you have adequate P plates in your car. There are even the ones that stick in your windows that you can buy from a servo.. I am sure you passed one of those before you got booked.. Cop it sweet and move on..
I just had to add it ......

I got pulled over not having one on the back, but I said it fell off (which it did) and got let off. I think that's just about the only circumstance where you wouldn't be fined for not presenting plates. Also rock_it...your avatar is SO distracting :P

It all depends on the cop I've been let off 140 no p plates but I've also been done no p plates in work car so its just the luck of the draw

As for sick on ones depending on the cop he prob would have fined u for them to as there not displayed on the out side of the car

Possibly because in NSW its a bit harsher on P platers... or apparently im endangering lives when i dont have P plates on... Or just plain old revenue raising..

Combination of revenue raising & knee jerk reaction (nanny state) - aka there was one fuckwit that ruined everything for every P plater.

Having said that... that one fuckwit comes from an esteemed group of tossers. Keep seeing P platers in bogandores wedged in shop fronts the last few days in the news...
