Post by SilentBob »

There are 3 different weights of Redline Shockproof's gear box oil...

Where can you get the redline gearbox oil from?
And how much are they?
And do you know if it's hard to replace this oil?
Or do you need a mechanic to do this?

Thank you,

Ive hunted around newcastle with no luck, the 2 'stockists' dont have stock because of some supply chain change occuring...

UniqueAutosports has it in stock, spoke to one of the guys there this morning who said the 'lightweight' stuff was the right one, price was 29.95/litre and i think youd need 3 containers....

go to coventry auto parts...theyre the official distributor and have a good price on redline shockproof

i got 3.87L for $99 - redline shockproof lightweight....its actually something like 75W140 but ive been told this thicker grade is necessary as its a fully synthetic oil

Thanks,

its pretty easy to do... there are instructions in the technical documentation on how to do it...

again i'm lazy and go to UAS and use their highpressure pump (it's a vacuum attachment to their compressed air supply) and do it that way. doesn't take long and they won't charge much to change it

mitsubishi boxes are damn picky when it comes to gearbox oil!

make sure they are within spec, also i reckon its damn expensive for a oil change using redline if you have a tip box!

If you do have a tip box, if its running fine, why change to redline? To do a complete flush you'll need over 6 litres, so over 200 bucks in oil, when its not necessary.

Thanks,
i find its best left to the pros. I doesnt cost much more to get it done, and they flush the tranny oil out of your car, not just a simple drain the refill.

It gets all the crap of your gearbox, even out of your torque convertor.
