Idling Issues

Post by billyzFTO »

i was driving my car yesterday and all of a sudden the revs dropped and the car stalled. then i tried to fix it by cleaning the AFM, pod filter, and around the throttle body area, this helped for about a day. Then the next day it kept stalling againing, after that i adjusted the idle a bit higher, and it idle at around the 1200, this also helped for a few days. but then i the next day i drove it and when ever i was at a traffic light (to a total stop) it the engine would jerk widely, and it would rev by itself. like i would be a traffic light and the engine would like rev its self without me pressing the accelerator. now it idles at 2000 to 2500 when in park.

oh yeah i drive a GR (triptronic) with pod filter as the only modification

ive been reading other topics and some people say it might be the stepper motor. has any body had this problem and does any body know how much a stepper motor would cost and where to get one in melbourne?

um just pulled it all apart (the piping to throttle, AFM and the bits aroung there) and cleaned it out with a rag. dont really know what the speed idle controller is or where it is located.
