Engine mount press
Probably a stupid question.
Where can I go to get old engine mount inserts removed and new ones pressed in?
Just a general mechanic... or what?

Re: Engine mount press
Yeah most mechanic shops will have a press. Doesnt ben have one?
CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Re: Engine mount press
Ben is a bit far away from me, unless I take my car there one weekend for him to do it, but don't want to bother him with such a small task...

Re: Engine mount press
They're not actually inserts, they're moulded in there...
I did investigate re-moulding them, as there is a product on the market that will do it (like a liquid rubber solution that hardens) but they don't last real long Im told.
Back to the drawing board I went - aka, Mitsubishi.

The RVR uses VR4 mounts, which you can get replacement inserts for, they're also the same as EVOs......
Going off the MEEK website, which isn't 100% clear, but from chatting with Chris, they were an insert...

Re: Engine mount press
Well I'll be damned. As they say, everyday is a school day round here.
You're quite right! And the FTO ones are the same as well!
There ya go everyone, lower engine mount inserts for FTO's:
Front: http://www.meek.com.au/index.php?act=vi ... ductId=507

Rear: http://www.meek.com.au/index.php?act=vi ... ductId=257

And only $100 for the pair.

And to finally answer your question
No I don't have a press, I use my mechanics.
He's up at Thornleigh.

Re: Engine mount press
Drop the cross member, remove mounts, go to a mechanics shop with a press, get the new inserts put into your old mount brackets, and put it all back together.FTO-BOY wrote:Haha cool! So what's required if I by these?
