TECH SPECS OF ENGINE 6A12 mivec

Post by Black_FTOGPX »

Hi Guys,

A mate of mine is has become fascinated with the Mivec engine. After I took him for a ride he seems to think that he would be able to do a few internal mods to get her kicking along better.

Now I’m not exactly sure what he wanted to know, as I’m not really mechanically minded really.

I think he wanted to know what the block was made from. Is it aluminium or (I think) Cast?

Also if you could give me other tech specs of the engine e.g bore sizes or anything else. I would gratefully appreciate it.

P.S if something I have written doesn’t make sense, please tell me cause I really don’t know jack about this stuff.

Thanks guy’s

We are going to see just how many small mods we can do without spending thousands of dollars and without my car being of the road for more than a day or two at a time.

He is coming down to see me this weekend and I will give more info then.

I will keep you all posted as we go.

don't mean to sound sceptical but are these minor mods gonna be done 'professionally' with the right tools by a certified/accredited mechanic or engineer, or will this be a backyard job?

Nah, my mate is an engine fitter, and has access to all the right tools at his work. :D

Rest assure I wouldn’t let anybody touch my baby that didn’t know what they were doing.
