Big problem, cant change idle from lever near the windscreen (forgot what its called). is there any way to change it?? its currently idling at 1500rpm.

Is that with or without aircon?

The lever near the windscreen do u mean like the linkage? Where your throtle cable comes in? (I hope its called the linkage )

There is a small gromet/plug half the size of a 5c coin on the right top part of your engine, where the air intake piping comes in, with a little screw to adjust the idle... It's just a bit down from the linkage from above, i think.

Is that the screw that you have been using?

keep turning the idle screw on the throttle body till the idle goes down.

Might be a stepper motor problem if theres a high idle in park.

i just put a new coil pack in becuz the other one was cactus. before i had to make the idle higher in order to keep it at 700rpm now ive tried to put it on the lowest and its still idling really high.
The air con is off. that screw on the side is really hard to turn im not sure if im even turning the right one!

you put a new coil in your stepper? you sure you did it properly?

nah if he has his idle screw right down, the car would of stalled from this.

turned to be my new Apexi SAFC II wasnt connected properly. Now it is and its idling beautifully

Is there a chance you guys can post a picture where to find the idle screw? I'm not into cars but I'm learning bit by bit. I'm still trying to find out where that idle screw is.....mine right now is around 500rpm...sometimes 300rpm. I've aleady reset the ECU and clean the Stepper Motor.

its usually covered by a rubber plug on top of the throttle body. Its there though, have a closer look.

Ok...I've found it. Change it to around 900rpm. However I just have one question. When I change it to 900rpm my Pod Air filter started to suck in more air....is that normal?
BTW am i suppose to change it while I'm on PARK or while on DRIVE position?

try cleaning your stepper motor first... i have an RSM i notice over time my idle drops from 750 (factory setting) down to 650-600 as the stepper motor gets dirty...

one time i was using the idle screw to adjust the idle on the car without cleaning the stepper motor ... eventually went to clean it and idled at 1500rpm...

to clean your ISC all you need is a 10mm socket a screw driver and a can of wd40 and about 20-30minutes...

the factory settings for idle are 750rpm +/-200rpm ... there's no need to set your idle at anything more than 750 from experience and my car will idle happily as low as 600. (anything under about 550 and its gets a bit unstable).

below the throttle body. You know where the air filter box is? Follow the plastic tube, then the plastic tube is connect to the engine right? Look under the plastic tube, and connected to the engine is a small motor like device. Its got a poweer connection to it, and is held in by two phillips head screws.

Thats the simplest way of describing where it is.
