Air Conditioning Problem

The unit was okay when i last used it. When i used the aircon the following day only the fan is blowing, no cool air. The compressor does not start, i looked at the fuse but its ok, what could be a possible cause?

One more question, does frequent starting and stopping of air conditioning unit affects the air conditioning unit life?

Same problem was with mine, the auto electrician found some sort of switch or wire that was faulty, couldn't tell you which one sorry

I reckon you'd be outta gas

Compressor wont engage if the pressure isn't up.

@bennoz, what do you mean out of gas? is it the fuel gasoline?

The Air Con lines are pressurised with the refrigerant gas R134a (or R12 on older cars)

i see, i will try to check the freon pressure with the mechanic, but previously the air conditioning is so cool before it conk,

It might just be a slow leak, so when they regas it, get them to put in the fluro dye. Then when it leaks again, you can see where its leaking from

No worries at all. Did you get it sorted?

Yes problem solved. Seems there is a problem in the filter and the evaporator valve, those two are stuck causing the evaporator to leak ( four identified leaks). We just gas weld the evaporator leaks and replaced the filter and the evaporator expansion valve. Leak test, vacuum with oil, re-gas and its done, hehehe. Caused me some bucks, lolz!
