I got a new 5L bottle of Castrol Magnetic 10W-40 engine oil and genuine mitsu oil filter for sale. $35 all up.

Yup 10w has safe cranking down to 20 degrees. So unless you live in a place that gets below NEGATIVE 20 (-20) degrees it is all good.

However, I only use mobile 1 10w in my car 8)

So would you recommend 5w because sydney gets way below 20degrees in the mornings.

im pretty sure my area right now in the morning and night is under 20 though. might as well settle for the 5w40's or 5w30's. still dont fully understand the xWy - what is x and what is y. i think with x, the lower, the thinner, and the y, the higher, the thinner in operating temperature? :scratch:

this oil will work all year round. Claims that it protect from the moment you turn your keys. it is safe to use and its semi syn, recommended to be used on FTO. Just make sure you do a regular oil change between 5-7k with new oil filter.
