it's a trend
if you really need it just remove your old one and get it reconditioned, imo this would be the quickest way to get your car back on the road.
jack up the front, if this is your first time it'll take about 30mins fiddling around.

My brand new OE starter motor took 3 working days to reach me, from Singapore, when thye posted it.
