7th + 8th August, DIY Day in Toowoomba

Post by BorepYano »

Just a thread to start hammering out ideas for the DIY day.

So far from what I can remember out of our chat in the car park, and what I can think of.

thinking about doing it on a Saturday arvo, and sunday. (a lot of details have to be worked out there obviously)
we should have a list of things we want to do to the cars.
it should be pretty much asap.
we'll need a list of what tools we are all bringing.

well, since we are going to have it at pete's so it's kind of up to him, so.... pete, when would be a good time for you to have a bunch of people over?

inputs and ideas, please. :)

Hmmm... more days off work... Sweeeeet... I knew i had these hours here for a reason....

Just an idea -> Maybe would be best to do it not in the afternoon as... well, the sun is just easier to work with then the moon...
And some of us will have to drive home after... so yeah.. but yeah... idk

Yeah definitly as early as possible.

What we need is to start a list of who is coming and what you want to accomplish. Then we can plan tools and some sort of time frame, eg whether we need to do t over two nights or one day will suffice.

So put down your name and what you want done.

Fix fog lights, well the thing you screw your screw into, whatever you wanna call it is bent.. so that depends .. I thought you are gonna get a new bar... that will fix that issue, if not well... i dunno..
The rest sounds reasonably do-able... i have some tint left over from my red FTO.

stef, i think most new bars you buy dont come with the mounting thingos, and with any luck we can just bash sophia's back into shape.

fair call on the sun light thing, ok, let's make it early, but with that said... how early can sophia get there lol

and... are we camping in someone's front yard over night? lol

I'm not touching the angel eyes. >.< lol

What I want done:
I'll probably need my interior repainted, and cleaned.
put my H brace on.
fix the short in my stereo
fix the fog lights switch
maybe some rewiring.
and if pete has a high pressure water thingo, i can also degrease my engine bay.

What I can do
if anyone need any small fibreglass repairs i might be able to help. (sophia's rear bar is a bit too much for me to do there lol)
i'm getting pretty good at taking the interior out now lol
order pizza and drink lol

no, just scared of a challenge when it comes to your car, jk jk
i didn't get a good look at it, i'm sure it's do-able, but i might need to go over it a few times, and we just dont have the time there for it to set.

Guess i gonna join the diy as well.

Few things that i wish to do,
-sand the headlights (by hand?)
-paint internal door handle cover
-probably amp my stereo

I can help if anyone need a hand. (eg. need a hand to hold something, etc :p )

Btw, to get the angel halo in, need to get the front bar off before getting to the headlights right?
Thought of getting angel halo for mine but seems too much hassle to get the front bar off.

& Sophia getting another bozz front? the ones with the mid bar removed?

Yep for the angel eyes, Front bar has to come off, then headlights, then baked in an oven then install halo's then baked in oven back together then back in car then put front bar back up and hope its all good.... Very much of a hassle

Sand headlights, good idea i'm sure a lot of us need to do this.
