How to remove rear seat?

Post by Dan25 »

I've used the search option to no avail.

How do I remove the rear seat? Something is rattling behind there and it's ticking me off!

Thanks in advance.

There's 2 clips under the back lower section. Sort of where your rear passengers croches would be.

Pull them out (towards the front of the car) and the lower section will come free. You just need to push the seat belt holders through to pull it right out of the car.

Then the rear top section is bolted to the back of the car, where the lower section came out from.

$50 says the rattle is the rear parcel shelf - missing clips.

to remove the bottom piece, there's 2 rings you pull out, they are kind of hidden at the bottom of the seat (where the seat and carpet meet), once they unlatch then the whole bottom piece should just come out.
once done, you'll see the back is bolted down (under where the bottom part was), remove the 2 bolts, then you should just be able to lift the back up (it's sitting on latches/hooks at the top)
Hope i didn't miss anything, this is just off memory, good luck :)

Lol thanks guys. After pulling everything apart I ended up feeling compelled to go and buy a set of 6x9s. Then one of them threw out distorted sound and I chucked a hissyfit. I swear I wired everything correctly so I don't know what the problem is...

Anyway, it was all a waste of time because it turns out the rattle is coming from my boot lock, and as if I'd know how to fix that...

It's not as hard as you'd think. The lock generally loosens up over time. Its simple a matter of undoing 2 x 10mm bolts on the latch & sliding the latch closer in. Then nip up bolts again ;)
