Ok, all is fixed. On my Mivec controller & my RSM.
If anyone wants to know the instructions on the above website are incorrect. To get into the setup of the Mivec Controller, I think you hold the "Up" & "Down" buttons together, then you use the function select button to move through the options
I guess if anyone reads this in the future and has questions about this specific model, then ask me!
Now I can go and terrorise the streets of Canberra!

You probably know this already, you can ask for the official manuals from R-Spec, but you will need to pay for postage and maybe for the manual. http://www.r-spec.com/manuals/out.html
I did find some other instructions that were, well, not really instruction for the "VTC84X/MVC86X" one.... But i can't remember from which fto site! (Found it, see below)
Yeah R-spec wanted to charge me $45 for an English manual! I got someone to translate the wiring diagram for me so I could get it installed, and it works ok, but there's a couple of set-up options I don't understand. Thanks for the link but unfortunately instructions for the DSM340 aren't there
Wow! $45...
That's the problem with getting the R-Spec ones, atleast the Apexi ones have a number of manuals available on the net, and more ppl use em.
I like the R-spec one because it's a lot smaller than the Apexi one, and not to mention cheaper..
Does you RPM on your controller match your tacho?
Yes, it mateches exactly. Although only after I set it to the right number of cylinders (from memory it defaulted to 4 cyl on installation). The speed is not an exact match though (especially during accelleration), which is why I think one of the settings might not be right.
I have the field mivec controller and if it's like mine, and you are getting a digital readout of the speed and rpm, then it will never match with your analog dials on your dash!
The digital ones are more accurate. Mine shows about a 100rpm less then what my analog dials tells me... so at 2000rpm, my mivec controller will show 1900rpm in digital.
Also, just because you take out the mivec controller your mivec is going to disappear....it shouldn't. All the mivec controller does is connect to ecu and be able to over ride the mivec start point....and other features ofcourse, but it doesn't add or change the mivec just cause you take out the unit guys!
But eitherway, for these things to really work properly you will have to get it tuned on a dyno any way!
Just a quick question...are these mivec controllers worth it? Ive read somewhere that they are more detremental to the performance than anything else.Is it worth shelling out the cash, coz im wonderin whether or not to get one myself. Cheers!

the key is to have them tuned properly .... without a proper tuning they are a waste of time
where did u fit yr controller because im trying to find a place to put mine.
i just bought a apexi SAFC II, and theres no space above passenger side dash.

Hmm. My mivec controller is a bit smaller then your Apexi one.
Mines sorta sits where the ash tray is, just to the right of the cigarette ligher thingy, but behind the gear lever, so that it doesn't get in the way.
But I think you have to be creative to securely place it there
*Looks at double sided tape & metal brackets*
