Front bar out of stock -_-

Post by mosti »

So i purchased a front bar ( http://www.carmate.com.au/ ..... Product description:
Mitsubishi FTO 1995-2000 "JT Style" Front Bar) I was all excited that I'd have it by tuesday. Opened my emails up 10mins ago and....

"With the front bar we are out of stock and our supplier from overseas has lost the mould
if you want you can pick from the other bars we have in stock as no extra charge otherwise
we can just refund if you like."

GAAAAAAAA!! :moon:

Does anyone know of any other places in aus where I can get a similar style for a reasonable price? That seriously took me ages to track down

All I can think of is pick the bar that has the bigest price tag on it and tell them you want that one and the side skirts to match for all the stuffing around they did to you

All the other front bars are the veilside looking ones and I'm not a fan of having my car look like a spaceship (no offence to people who own such front bumpers :P )

I'm just so annoyed at the moment. Was planning on taking in the car to get a whole spray next weekend -_-

Try to get your money back and hold onto it untill you see the right bar for you.
If you don't like the there other bars don't let them push you into it.

I will get my money back but I bet they will take their time in giving me the refund..
I kinda wanted a bar asap as I'm just waiting to get my hands on one so I can bring my car in to get sprayed. I guess I'll just go ahead with the spray and just keep my stock front.
But I have D-cuatro rear and side skirts

There is a bar dstocks has which I'm very keen on but I'm a little worried as the left side bracket is snapped clean off and there is a long crack and same with the right. A little hesitant with the repair as I have a feeling it'd be very fragile and snap on me constantly.

Here is the extent of the damage. What do you guys think? Would the brackets be super fragile after the repair??

Exact same thing happened to me when I tried to order a JT Style/HKS front bar from Car Mate.

Although in my case, they took two weeks after I ordered to tell me it was out of stock, then a further three weeks to put the money back into my account.

Car Mate are pathetic.

Well it took them only 3hrs after I paid to let me know it wasn't in stock so hopefully when they open tomorrow and see my email, they will refund immediately otherwise I'm going to be quite pissed off.

I really wanted that front bar

Try http://www.dmdtheimage.com/

Click the "Body Kits" link on the right hand side, not the one in the menu on the left hand side.

Yea already tried dmd. Called them up 2days ago. The custom front costs too much. The other came out to be $550 including postage. It's all good now though, I ended up getting a front lip from carmate for $300 including postage so that will do I guess.
Probs should have spent the extra $250 to get the front bumper from dmd.

Haha, so that would have worked out to cost me a total of $570. Didn't want to give it a try trying yo strengthen the mounts :P. I'd be a lot more confident had there only been cracks.

I enquired about the JT front bar with carmate about 18 months ago. Did not have it then either. They said it would take a while to get in. Could it just be 18 months? lol.

Nah, I left a note on the door (cause i was out and about today) asking if they could leave it round the side. Got home, unpacked it and notices a crack on the left, a crack on the oppposite side in the exact same position and one in the middle.

That sux mate. You are not having a lot of luck at all with this.
Let's hope it gets sorted out and you get what you want and in good condition, as they say 3rd time lucky.
