My lock nut key is bent/thread is worn, anyone know the best way to get the nut out? i heard at bunnings theres a bulldog nut (or whatever its called) that can eat the thread on the nut an take it out?

take it to workshop get them to tak weld a rod onto it so can pull off, last thing you want to do is damage wheels trying different bits to remove it.
However I know some places also have lock nut breaker sockets but they may also damage rim

ooo, u suggest like a tyre shop or my mechanic? cause my last lock nut i went to a tyre shop, they just use a smaller size socket, and hammering it in the lock nut to get new thread. it looks painful.

i ripped off half of my inverted hex key into a nut once... if your lucky like i was you should have enough room on each side of the nut to bash a large socket onto it.
ok so you get a socket which is 1mm smaller the nut, bash it onto the nut so the nut get stuck inside the socket... attatch your socket bar to the socket... then turn left... job done.
you must be willing to sacrifice the nut and socket piece though

either do the method above and try to find another lock key OR you may have to weld on a rod.
either way your going to loose one nut.
btw say your update on your build thread LOL
