Where to get aftermarket parts?

Post by HiRAEdd »

So looks like I'm up for a new bonnet and front bar (among other things). I can take the opportunity to get aftermarket bits but I'm not sure where to go for this.

So far, I've found the following which has CF bonnets and a couple of front bars: http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/

And I've found a few sites that show you what options are available in terms of body kits.

Can anyone make some suggestions for where I should go/who I should contact to source a bonnet and/or front bar - preferably brand new. I'm still undecided about what I want so all suggestions are appreciated at this point. Also, within Australia is preferred but considering the stock parts will be coming from Japan, if you have any suggestions for overseas suppliers, that would be fine too.

Thanks in advance.

DMD The Image Do full body kits,(and probably do bonnets aswell) they are in Brisbane.
I've heard they are preety expensive but most people are happy with what they end up with.
DMD The Image - http://www.dmdtheimage.com/ [WEBSITE IS NOT WORKING TO WELL] I think you'd be better off going down to them. If you don't live to far out of Brisbane.

Carmate.com.au are in Sydney so you would have to get it sent up here, they are probably cheaper but also some people say they're parts arn't the best quality.

Thats all I really know dude, goodluck though...

If you are prepared to go facelift front bar, have a look in the group buys section. We are doing a facelift factory TS at the moment.

I wouldn't buy anything from uniqueautosports. I've dealt with them in the past and they are a bunch of pirates.

@dstocks: hmmm, I'll give it some thought, thanks.

@AJ: Good to know. Seems DMD are the only ones I've yet to hear anything bad about.

Still waiting on the quotes from the panel beaters to know how much I've got to spend. Insurance company said I can use aftermarket parts as long as they're the same or lesser value.

Carmate are a bunch of tools. They can take me to court for that one, if they'd like.

Paid for the front bar I wanted, via their website, 'JT' style and was e-mailed a receipt for the purchase, which stated that my item would arrive in 5-6 working days.

Two weeks later, I'm scratching my head and wondering why the bar hasn't arrived, so I decide it's time to give them a call. The man I spoke to was rude and told me they were out of stock and tried to convince me that another staff member had called me straight after I placed the order to tell me. I told him I had definitely NOT received a phone call, while he sat there telling me there was a note on my account saying I'd been informed of the stock issue, ignoring my claims of not being informed. I told him that until the day that I'd called, I'd been waiting for the bar to show up. Needless to say, I was pissed off.

Eventually they understood and offered me a refund, asking me to e-mail them with my bank details and they'd get straight on it.

I e-mailed them and then waited a further week and half until I saw the money refunded in my account, during which time I e-mailed them, receiving no reply.

I won't be buying from them again.
