Help

Post by psychosquall »

Hi guys,

There are a few things I'd like to discuss about, please refer to the following:

1.) Odometer stopped working. I had the battery car changed days ago, i got a RACQ guy to do it... But after that, odometer stopped working... I got quoted 200 dollars +++ to get it fixed... So i was wondering if any of you guys had this problem before and let me know what i should be looking at ? example which wires, etc...

2.) I have recently own this car (bought this car), so I was wondering if i should go to a special mechanics shop to get regular services... Where is the best one? Mitsubishi dealership?

3.) What are a few things I can do myself to tweak its performance without spending alotta money.

Incase you were wondering if from the gold coast, 4216 area.

thanks in advance
steve.

First thing first Never Ever go to a Mitsu dealership to service your car or do repairs. FTOs are imports and these mechs at the dealership have exactly no idea what they are doing besides mitsus in the aussie market. There have been a case some time ago where a member sent his car to a mitsu dealer and problems cropped up. I'm sure there are some good mechs who knows about FTOs recommended by members in your area. Just post in your state thread further down below in the forums page.

Most members usually just put in a high flow cat converter and exhaust system (2.5 inch piping would be sufficient), rpw extractors and CAI to increase performance. However if u want something a bit more a piggyback ecu would further increase your kw. That is after you do all the stuff i mentioned above for it to be worthwhile. There are a couple of piggyback ecu's in the for sale section that you might wanna check out. If its over the budget might just wanna take out yeah spare wheel, radio and air conditioner...that might help make the car go lighter and faster :)

have you got a tip or a manual?. I have second hand instrument clusters for a tip if that helps. They are easy enough to change over. Now, that would be if the dial itself is damaged. It also could be one of the sensors in the engine bay. I cant remember the name of it unfortunately, but know that if it dies, it will cause the tacho to stop working. I might actually have a new one of those lying around as well, ill have a bit of a look for it.

joe and rick? (can't remember their names)
they r in south port, have heard mostly good and some bad from them, one thing for sure is that they have dealt with quite a few ftos.
have a browse through the qld section or maybe one of the stickies about repairers etc, and u'll find their details there.
