a little help with cf scuff plates + center consoles please

Post by BorepYano »

hey guys.

I vaguely remember seeing a photo of carbon fibre scuff plates a while ago, does anyone remember where the photo is or who's car it's on?

reason being is that I'm thinking about making them for my car, but was just wondering how the cf ones are secured to the car.

now the original plastic ones are clipped in, but i wont be able to make the details on the underside with the cf ones, would 3M double sided tape work?

as well as that, can anyone with the cf center consoles let me know how they are fitted? i.e are they just screwed in or did they make the clips etc when they made the cf copy.

thanks :)

agree with xj, i double side tape mine too, but every now an then it will come off due to the heat weak the tape. im pretty sure u can use sikaflex but it will be hard to remove the console. if anyone has another idea to secure it, please to tell ^^

The door sills are moulded from OEM plastic parts in order to guarantee 100% perfect fitment. We are using special cloth to replace the fiberglass, thus the carbon products are comparably flexible.

Customer only needs double side tape to fit, which is a very easy DIY job.
