very bad news for the 6a13tt

hey guys got some very bad news to tell.
yesterday morning tried to start the car had a massive clunk clunk clunk noise from the motor so i turned it off straight away. looked at the dipstick it had no oil in it at all, had a look for leaks and i know their was a very small one on the return line for the rear turbo but not big enough for all the oil to just be gone.
So i left it all day and went back and put oil in it and checkd the level and it was up past the correct level for cold. Started the car and it made the clunk noise then after like 15 seconds it went away and it sounded fine. drove it home with no problems at all oil pressure was good. Now today after work come home and try it again and it is back to a massive clunk clunk so i am not touching it anymore. Getting it trucked to the shop for him to figure out what the hell is wrong with it.
anybody got some ideas

Im only speculating mate. Tell me what the mechanic says & I'll let you know what I think.

Ouch man, GL. Yep sounds like big end bearing as well. Wonder what happened to the oil.. Did the engine get rebuilt/reconditioned upon installation ?

car is about to get put on the back of the flat bed truck and taken to jsm. lets just pray it hasnt damaged the block of the crank to badly.

Crank is not too bad, but if has damaged the block your fucked

yh so i am also now looking for another motor just incase so i can get it up here quick smart if i need to change motors. lets pray and hope i am a lucky bastard

hey guys the mechanic now thinks after hearing it today. he thinks it is a broken cam shaft he is going to pull the rocker cover off on monday and check the pistons and shaft to see if they are all ok.
if it has damaged internals then new motor of forged internals. if i am lucky just a new cam shaft

so ben do u think this could be the problem lol. He is going to pull the rocker cover off on monday and take a look at the inside of the motor. If the cam has snapped were do I gt a new one. Or if it has damaged the block should I go full forged or new motor. Were would I find forged stuff for the motor.

richard mate I wish I had the money to buy your motor mate. Well find out 2morow about what the verdict is.
I found new cams for 1500 on rpw and pistons for 1600 and rods for around 1700. So I dunno what I am going to do. If it is just cams broken I will buy new cams I reckon. I don't think I will find a new motor for under 2k

if the cams have broken (Ive never heard of that before) you may get lucky and the pistons may not have hit a valve, but worst case it could be new heads as well.

ok found out the cam shaft has not broken but the motor is dead and i need a new one. they found a judgin pin on one of the pistons as smashed off and cracked a piston and damaged the conrod. so does anybody else know were to get a new motor
