HELP: twin piston brake caliper upgrade

Post by twistea »

i would like to know if anyone has attempted to change the single piston front brake calipers from the GR to the twin piston calipers as on the GPX....

:?: i am looking for help as to what is required to complete this conversion. :?:

it is obvious that you would need the front calipers and mounting brackets, and the rotors from the GPX, but what else? is it just an easy swap with these parts or is there something else required like new brake lines too?

i would appreciate any help. thanks.

People have definately replaced the single pot with two pot front brakes. You just need what you said, it is that easy.

The Brembo kit that is available in the UK actually uses Brembo calipers from a Seat Leon Cupra R and Brembo discs from a Mercedes. It also has a custom bracket for the caliper. The discs I think are 318mm in diameter.

I know someone that did have a set of EVO Brembo calipers and gave up on them since it was going to be awkward although I can't remember why! :?

The Brembo kit costs 795UKP not sure how many Dollars (Australian) that is but probably a lot. Most of the cost will be the discs, calipers and SS braided hoses.
