If i leave my car without driving it for around 2 hours, when i start it and i try drive off in first and second gear if i dont rev it hard its as though the fuel isnt going through the engine and i even pressing the accelerator hard my car pops (as though it stops accelerating and then starts again) and because i have my foot down it jumps from stopping to revving hard and does that for about 30seconds. After that my car is fine and i can drive normal but im not sure why...

:(

i feel that on mine too, when the engine is cold or cooled down a bit, whenever i double clutch early after starting the engine, the revs just shoots up on the slightest tap on the gas but after a while its calmer when the engine is warmer. it could have something to do with the fuel pumps, which might also be why the car (at least my gpx) limits itself to 6000rpm and does not go into mivec early after ignition. but hopefully someone here knows exactly why

i thought they kinda covered this in another thread, its due to the gearbox/clutch oil isnt running properly, so the car would need to be warmed up for around 5min

Its a safety feature built into the car to stop clowns like you lot blowing up your engine by revving the sh*t out of it when its cold!

NEVER rev the sh*t out of the car when its cold! Its the best way to send fragments of metal all the way through the motor.

Let her warm up before you drive anywhere! Our engine's aren't getting any younger.

I you read the OP carefully, this has nothing to do with what he's talking about...

Yannino, I've experienced this strange lag and surging a few times when very low on fuel. Once a full tank has been put back in, I don't have an issue. I've always attributed it to the dirty dredges of fuel found at the bottom of the tank.

I actually replaced the filter about a week ago and experienced the problem a few days after.

Just a thought, could be very wrong and way off track, but could it have any thing to do with plugs and points??

You know what? I had absolutely no idea there was another filter that needed replacing. Any information on a DIY for this? Will the filter part number be exactly the same as the one I have just used?
