Lower Control Arm Ball Joint

Hi Guys,
I just got my car serviced today, and the mechanic said that i needed to replace my the lower control arm ball joint. There i am thinking, $600 i just spent on a service, a pair of tires, and brake pads. I'm thinking crap!? Now, who much is it going to cost me this time?
So does anyone know where i can get a hold of this part or know the part number? Worst come to worst I'll have to go to Mitsubishi for it, but i don't necessarily want to put more holes in my wallet.
Please help guys, (I live at blacktown)

through some research from this forum, is it true that lower control arm on some lancers will fit the an fto? If so, does it it make more difficult to try fit it on?

Even if it is around that price mark, do you guys think labour would be much more?

Great that's not far at all. I'll call mitsi today to see if they've got the part but they may need the part number. Would you know the part number?

i just spoke to the mechanics and they said i only need the ball joint itself. Now the ball joint available on camskill, does it fit both sides?

If you need to get it from a main dealer the it's also a Proton part, which might come up cheaper on their system.

As far as I rememmber you need to press it out, so basically you need a press and something to split the original ball joint from the hub.

Thinks thats the rear control arm your talking about. Was an EVO component, same as FTO but with a plate welded the bottom of it to make it stiffer.

Yup, EVO 1,2 or 3 rear arms fit. In fact all the rear suspension compenents are the same except the trailing arm has a hole though it for the drive shaft, and the shocks will probably be different.
