Boot rattles, fix?

my boot rattles real bad when my bass is pumping, i stopped it by putting playdo (the clay thingy), it actually worked, but now they went all dry and hard so it doesnt absorb the sound anymore, any suggestion to use? are there those sound proofing clay?

thers some soundproofing material called Dynamat, u can get it on ebay, bit expensive though..

Down at WOW we stock the Stinger Roadkill line. Works very well, I've heard the difference myself and isn't too crazy expensive.

can get a bulk pack for round 250 on ebay, which is not too bad i guess.... im waiting for my pack to install so il give feedback after...

youve possibly done in the welds in the boot. Try siliconing all the seams

Also the bass can and usually does, loose bolts through out your boot.
turn your stereo on and try and identify exactly where its coming from.

its just in the middle of the boot, basicilly if i put my hand in the middle on the boot the rattle stops, thats why i put some clay underneath it to absorb it, it worked, but the clay just dried up, -_-

isnt that just a glue or somethin? do i just apply it underneath middlle of the boot?

The boot skin is attached to the subframe with glue sort of stuff. An accident (or loud stereo) can split these spots so that the boot skin rattles against the subframe. The sikaflex can be used to get it better than it ever was. I have sikaflexed all the seams in my bonnet and boot. Open the boot and use the sikaflex to create a bead between the subframe and the boot skin. You dont have to do it around all the seams, but it looks better if you do. Tidy it up with a rag. Make sure you tidy it before it dries as it is not pleasant to try and remove once its on.

i just jammed in 3 pieces of cardboard between the subframe and the boot
works perfect ...

opps, i brought sikaflex 227, will it work the same? lol cause i didnt see any 221. its called adhesive black

OMG im so failed, i didnt know u need a gun pusher thing to squeeze the glue out, sigh -_- and its a black one, not clear -_-, fail x2

Don't think the rattles mind if it's clear or black mate... but yeah, a gun could come in handy!

true grue, coz i have some mat material to cover the boot, lets hope i can get a gun of my friend tonight so i can finish it
around how long would it take to dry completely an get hard? 30min? 1hr?+?

Don't forget to put the Sikaflex into your freezer after your done - as it goes off. Next time you need it, take it out of the freezer & pop it in a bowl of boiling water to thaw it out.
