anyone know what the electrical connector under the drivers seat is for? it has a white connector on the end and comes through a slit in the carpet. is it for heated seats?

there is nothing to plug it into though !!! no wiring in the seat frame, are they somewhere else?

It should go into the base of the seatbelt connector on the console side..

Nah, when they complied your car, they replaced the nice Japanese seatbelts with cheap and nasty Aussie ones. The Japanese clips has a sensor in them and the wires came out of it. the repacements dont have those bits. In cars complied under the current scheme, the original belts are allowed.

    I have the sweet Jap ones lol. Never would have known the difference though :?

    Does that mean that the seatbelt sensor doesn't work in those cars that have had Aussie seat belts installed?

    on topic my fto has the nz/jap spec seatbelt with ott wear about where the seatbelt meets the seat

    Speaking of seatbelts, mines fucked itself into knots....my fault obviously.

    how easy/legal is it to swap over the jap belt connector thingy to the seat i've just swapped over to?

    just changing seat shouldn`t affect it mate ;) its just a wire (swap over over seat belt connector if other one doen`ts have it)
