Rear Camber Wear

Post by mz_madz »

I am getting really bad camber wear on my rear's. Is there any adjustable camber arms available or could something else be causing this?

Any help would be great! Thanks guys!

the rear has factory camber and toe adjustment, just get a wheel alignment
set rear camber to -1 degree (each side)
rear toe to 0 to 1mm toe in
and front toe from -1 to +1mm toe (each side)
for daily driving if you want to preserve tyres

front camber is not adjustable unless you have a camber bolt in strut or pillow ball top strut hats

thats impossible must be 4.5 degrees and if its on limit prob eccentric cam bolts are stuffed try replacing them first or go to another wheel aligner

All I know I watched him do it & the rears were in the red & at the maximum. He had his boss come over to try to fix it & he said thats the best they could do. They even said nothing was wrong with the car. So confused. I'll take it somewhere else.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM

my rear driver wheel is out by 4.3! i found out two weeks ago n i was recommended to try this place that does wheel alignment for repairable write off cars, because they couldnt fix it for me.

so im kinda freaking out atm.

the symptoms i seem to be facing is that sometimes when i drive n i let go of the steering wheel it will drift far right n other times far left n then (most of the time) just drive straight.

but i though if there was a wheel alignment issue that the tyres will show uneven amount of wear?

your front toe is out of your tyres are tram lining on road
and the camber on rear has adjustment up to around 5 degrees I think you guys are just going to places that dont really know what they are doing...... the setup is the same as any lancer

And if you can't adjust the neg camber out of the rear, ie you're being told its as far as it will go, then this bush needs replacing:

basicaaly if car goes everywhere on road its because
*front toe out or toe in in far too much
*Your tyres are causing it (cheap tyres or bad tread pattern and pressure)

as for rear camber the adjusting bolt actually has 5 degrees or so adjusment allowable
so I find it difficult to believe they cant improve from 4.3 degress unless you have bent arm or really bad bushes

so i would be going elsewhere for another try (what i mean by lancer is that the whole wheel alignment adjusting bits are exatcly the same as the OZ built lancer) So even any OZ wheel aligner should understand how it works

but pic of sheet will be good as long as has before and after readings ;)
