Police Tricks

Post by ruchi »

Thought I'd start a new thread so we could help each other by highlighting some of the tricks police are using.

Nearly got done by an unmarked police car yesterday, at first glance it appeared to be a standard commodore with a parent driving with a child in the back, as it had one of those suction cup sunshades on the rear windscreen, but as I got closer I could see that the sunshade was covering up the red and blue lights mounted on the rear parcel shelf.

As I pulled up along side, I could then see the blue uniform.

Now that's a sneeky way to cover up the lights and to project a false image - i.e. thinking the sunshade is for a child in the back

Anyone else aware of some tricks like this the police are using?

well heres my input on what to look out for would be cop cars....on nsw
1. number plates- they usually start with X Y or a Z(yellow plates)
2. stock rims or the hub caps are off....
3. excessive aerials
4. make of car...they usually holden or fords
5. there has to be two or more people in the car for them to charge you with anything for witness purposes. (well thats what ive heard, correct me if im wrong)
6. fog lights

well thats all i can think of at the moment.....
let us know anything that you know of...

Lol, that would be funny...
You know, someone did make an fto cop car for one of the Need for Speed Games... :P

These days cop cars can bloody be anything new and over 6 cylinders
I think Canberra has like 5+ unmarked new XR8's 8O

I saw once an unmarked cop driving like 90k's on a bit of road to the coast, then when someone overtook him, and didn't slow down within the legal distance he booked him... now that' evil...

i got booked by a (marked) copper in a 4WD for speeding... (he was doing 100 in a 80 zone mind you) ...

elected to take it to court and never heard back... (ummm note don't overtake a police car even a 4WD)

i did have a interesting conversation wtih him:

"You were over the speed limit son"
"how fast was i going? and what's the speed limit?"
"well i was doing 100 when you went past me, in a 80 zone"
"so you were speeding then as well?"
"yeah all the traffic was"
"so why did you pull me over?"
"cause you're the one in the import"
"yeah i figured as much"
<no answer from him busy writing out the ticket>
"by the way, i'm taking this to court so do you still want to book me?"
"yep"
"how fast was i going?"
"here's your ticket Mr Morison, please obey the speed limits in future"

yeah ummm you could imgaine what i said as soon as he left my window i'm sure.

Yes Im from Sydney

There was a police chase(one of the many) 4-5 years ago that invloved a stolen M3. They chased it thru Sydney and then up north. They had quite a number of cars on it but still lost it in traffic.
They caught up to it around Gosford(70mins from Sydney) and lost it again on the freeway.
They eventually managed to surround the car when it was abandoned at Newcastle.

I also sent a court election for a speeding fine from back in Aug. 2002 and I never heard back. Fingers crossed.

i got pulled over on the M4 doing about 140 (or so they say) but they just gave me a 30kph and over (limit there is 90)

i wrote 3 letters to the infringements office in parra, and this delayed it for a few months, and when they finally wouldnt let me off, i sent a court election in and i havent heard back since...

just remember there can be a loooonnnngggg delay with court procedings, so chances are you'll get called into court someday. The key is to note everything down, so you don't forget, as the police will have everything recorded.

a very dirty trick i came across over the long weekend on the Princes Hwy...

an unmarked Camry (fitted with camera + flash) hiding next to bushes behind the top of an overtaking stretch of tarmac...

you can imagine how many ppl got 'flashed' for trying to overtake some slowmoving campervan/truck... (luckily i'm not one of them)

what really pisses me off my guts is that on a 100kph single laner, these pissweak piece of junks will go at 85kph, yet when they approach an overtaking lane they speed up to 110-115kph...
