Do i have a mivec

i have just bought my fto and was led to belive that it was a mivec, as this is my first fto i wasnt aware of al the modles.could some let me know a few quick checks i can do to find out if it is a mivec.i think i was lied to when i bought it.

Hey mate welcome.

Easy open up your bonnet and if the oil filer cap is on the left (drivers side) you have mivec. If it is on the right (passanger side) it is a non mivec.

hi thanks for the reply. ill have a check i dont think it is a mivec though. if its not spose i will have to have a look at what i can do to try and get it up to mivec spec

can i not use a chip, induction kit turbo?? and thigs like that to give me the performance.

if its a manual GR all it takes is a CAI and free flowing exhaust and your with a standard mivec, go a little bit further with T.B/manifold upgrade and piggyback ecu you will be luaghing, turbo is expensive way, unless you can most of the work yourself but of course power will be much more

Im lead to believe that turboing the non-mivec model is easier than the mivec model.
