soda blasting

had my bumpers soda blasted to get the paint off as it was all cracked from bad prep work sometime in the past. i would'nt recommend it to anyone else as it has eaten into the plastic un-evenly. it will be repairable with spray putty and sanding, but it was supposed to be safe for plastic. oh well, live and learn i guess.
just a warning to fellow members.
it would be ok for steel panels, they had pix of other work they have done, looked good.
thier name is "complete soda blasting" in Prestons ph. no. 98272104. cost me $60 each for cash, probably did it for beer money, no reciept.

Yeah, soda blasting is good for some things. Getting some rims done next week.

Just wondering if anyone knows, if you were gonna powdercoat some rims, would you need to soda blast or sand them down before you gave them out or is that included in the powdercoating process???

Depends on the powder coater. They usually dont supply sand blasting as a service, all they have is a caustic tank to strip the powder of the hooks they use to hang, spray & send gear through the oven.

I heard about $60 per rim (for all colours or finishes).

Might be more if you need it sandblasted first to remove the paint. Probably not necessary though because I've seen rims sent off to be powdercoated @ 60 bucks each and they all came back looking good.
