For Sale - Set of 4 Tyres - Federal ss595

Post by mr-charisma »

Selling full set of Federal SS595 tyres - I'd say 95% tread, barely used the car since getting them - Asking $480

.. They're awesome tyres & I will be getting them for the next set as well, but unfortunately they don't fit properly, so I have to go with a different profile.

I had exactly the same problem. 205/45 17 solved 95% of the rubbing issues for me. Full lock, going up a gutter will give me a very slight touch still. But other than that, perfect.

Problem isn't the width, it's the diameter.. thinking of going 225/40/17 .. hopefully they won't be too wide..

I had both problems. Too high, it rubbed on the top corners. And too wide, took a slice out of the side with the strut. So careful with the width. Good luck.

for 17`s provided you have the correct offset wheels tyre size should be 215/40x17

Any idea what the correct offset would be?

You'll have to excuse me, as I know nothing about tire dimensions etc.

Would these fit a 17" rim with an 8" width and a +40 offset?

I run those some 595ss on some 17's with 45 profile, offset is +35
front still rubs a bit - I run King low springs but the wider look is great

for 17x7 it should be +42 offset.... less though for wider rims

Yeah, I assume that the issue is more the profile of the rims, because the old set of wheels are 17's with the same 215/45 measurements .. I am only touching the spring housing of the strut by the smallest margins .. I was thinking of using spacers, which should resolve it, but might be easier / less illegal to swap tyres.

@ J - The retail on the tyres is about $600 odd, I picked them up for $580 something

I had 40's, but I think that was too much, 35 would be the go :)

yeah all the same just bear in mind that you still may get some rub and need just a small spacer...... but double check on that offset mate pretty sure its right though
