Intake pipe ideas?

Was wondering what kind of setups people have for their intake and where did they get it from?

Ive got the hks super power flow pod and looking for an aftermarket pipe. Did a search and seen different types of pipes but no info on where to get one from and price.

I've got the UAS kit like many on the forum. It seems to work a treat. I hear it can give up to 10kw atw when used in conjuction with the uas filter.

The stock fto intake is quite restrictive.

2 90" monza pipes and cut the ends to size

if u have a mivec u can replace the MAF with a straight pipe ...

where can you purchase this from? is it only available online?

just a general question to anyone, im abit confused as to whats the 'best' set up. is it better to have a pod that is enclosed in a heat proof box as well as some piping from the bottom of the car that leads up into the pod.

or replacing the stock air filter with a K&N one or similar. and in both cases would the stock piping that leads to the throttle body have to be replaced or is there no need for it?

From what i gather the stock intake pipe is very restrictive, so a pipe with smoother bends would be beneficial. A cold air setup would be better than not enclosing it so you get denser air into the tb, for NA anyway. Not sure about changing stock filter to a K&N one or to a pod.

as smooth bends as possible from a cold air feed from bumper to enclosed pod or filter of your choice then another as smooth as possible non restrictive pipe to the TB

after that look at enlarging TB/manifold and plenum, adding headers and free flowing 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust with a piggyback ECU and you should notice some really good gains

A question to anyone who has the UAS intake kit, does it sound like any other pod would? can you even tell that it has a pod on or is the noise similar to any other pod?

well i origanlly had a cone style pod before i changed to hks air ram one which are a mushroom style filter. although the hks seems to suck air a little louder they both sound great

similar but the Unifilter they give u gives great induction noise in Mivec

Yep, They have a great noise, especially after you hit 5000rpm+ on a cold night/morning.

If using custom silicone pipes from MAF sensor to TB, how to replicate the breather line tat is found on a GR stock intake to TB? Do we need to make a hole and insert the breather pipe?

I found the following for GR setup...Where does the small filter go? On my stock intake, I have a breather pipe(about 4-5 inches) and it is not connected..should it be connected????

if its not the oil is going either in your bay or its blocked off...would be a good idea to do something with it, the breather is an ok idea to soak up the oil when the pressure gets too high...unless your on the edge in terms of tune - which u wont be - feeding it back into the intake wont be a big deal.

serach for PCV valve.

Thats the only thing left for me to do as well. Best thing to do would be to get some flexible conduit piping or even some good pvc and route it through the exisitng hole near the pod all the way down to the front bumper. You also got to put a few holes to drain any water that may get in there.

Involves taking off/replacing the bumper so could take a while if your not sure what your doing.
