Hey Dwayne,
Just wanted to know if you had any templates for a CAI box that i could grab off you. I have the UAS pipe with the HKS pod.
Thanks Farah

You need dimensions and angles as well because the box isnt perfectly square or rectangle and has all sorts of weird angles. I have the template drawn on a rectangular sheet of tin, it has to be cut so that it can be used as a template for others to trace around. Not sure what to cut it with, might try an angle grinder with a cutting wheel.tippin9 wrote:hmm, that would be cooltarkus wrote:dwayne
just do one or dimensions to me and then i can digitize it into a drawing that will be available to all![]()
Tarkus
i would be happy with just a simlple sketch with dimensions

Tin Snips FTW ... The metal you have it on is pretty easy to cut ...

It is easy to cut with tin snips but when i borrowed Dwayne's tin snips down at the bonfire I couldn't manoveure them around to cut the template out. It would probably take ages to do. Not only that, but i'll also need to make the inner skin of the airbox.rock_it wrote:Tin Snips FTW ... The metal you have it on is pretty easy to cut ...
Nevertheless, keep your eyes peeled as I'll probably post up the template next weekend as Im busy with uni assignments till then

I'd like to know as well where to source some sheets of metal. I wanted to use galvanized steel sheets because the current tin sheet is prone to rust at the edges and exposed sections of metal.
Let me know if you find anything tippin.

I can do Solidworks. havent done it since 1st year engineering
But transforming the final template and airbox into 3d is a great idea. I'll have a go at it if I have some free time.
Anyone know about the thermal properties of aluminum?
I'll make an inner skin and outer skin out of thin shape-able aluminum then fill the gap with insulator foam. little better than the tin sheets i have now (maybe?)

i got my material from o'brien aluminium in windsor, they sell aluminium sheeting ranging from 0.8mm to 3mm thickness and you can specify what dimensions you wantkoolio1234 wrote:I'd like to know as well where to source some sheets of metal.
