Nope. There's no VTEC YO!!!!! & the car weighs twice as much as the FTO. Trust me, you'll be dissappointed, I was.

If your truly unsatisfied with your fto, then a turbo supra wouldnt be a bad upgrade.

If you were to sell your fto you might get about 8000 - 9000, even though youve serviced it and put a sound system in, it has slightly high km's.

From memory Supra's weigh around 1600 kgs.

TT Supra - Hell yea, go for it.

Non turbo - I'm gonna have to say "Don't do it".
I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.

Even a non T supra has more potential upgrades and aftermarket support than and FTO. I would say follow your heart and never look back.

Any turbo is going to be an upgrade from the FTO.
Unless you get a high powered N/A, then there's not much of an upgrade.
The FTO has an ace of being light weight where most cars suffer from dead weight.

If ou want power, then a big block N/A, or turbo is the way to go.
If you just want pose factor, then whatever floats your boat.

If Supra's are what you're into then I say get one.

Don't bother getting an NA one, nad please don't mention anything about "turboing" an NA one after you buy it.

If you're gonna do it, do it properly & get the TT ;)

Agreed. Although i was quite fixated on the n/a supra before i got the fto. I still look at the supra and go damn i wish the fto >>looked<< like that. To me how i see it is if i cant do much to an fto ($$ wise) for performance then what difference in a n/a supra. The fto is more of a cruise car/work car for me. But that might not be your situation. (all IMO)

For the price, i'd say around 8-9grand would be an average. The first thing people look at when browsing the ads is how many k's has it done. My 2cents.

You might want to consider a few things as well:

- more petrol and less mileage per tank.
- possibly higher insurance costs.
- Can you afford to rebuild the turbo every year or two if you go the turboed supra route.

Its important to think ahead

:D

Good luck :thumleft:

tell me the bad points! ... any VTEC YO!!!!! integra / civic / accord would be fairly even with the fto stock for stock

anyways back on topic, dont go the supra ... unless its turbo'd
my automatic fto can be about 3 cars+ in front from 0 - 140kms ... against a manual n/a supra (stock for stock )

Just ask jamie about a N/A supras vs a gpx fto......can someone say "destroyed"

Seriously before i did all my mods, i decided to take a few supra's for a spin to make sure I was making the right decision keeping the fto and after one drive of a n/a supra i was massively dissapointed. BIG SLOW PIECE 'O' sh*t. My mates g/f also has one and she has done exhaust and pod and its still a joke

Sure you can argue there's more aftermarket parts for the supra but really apart from the normal (CHEAP) mods everyone goes for, how many poeple actually go fully sik on it and in the end if you did you will only ever hear people saying why didnt you just get a turbo'ed one. You could of had the same power for about a qtr of the cost. but hey thats just my 2 cents

Like everyone said, turbo is a maybe, N/A is a definite no-no.

But - are you on your Ps? Can you even drive turbo?

If yes - you still need to think about:
- higher insurance premiums
- higher fuel bills
- higher maintenance bills
- more chance of things going wrong (more complexity involved)
- turbo import cars tend to get THRASHED or CRASHED or both
- higher upfront price for a TT supra

Not saying don't do it, but at least go in with your eyes wide open...

SOmething that hasn't even been mentioned yet is the difference in specification of the N/ A over TT Supra.

TT's will have bigger brakes, stronger dif (you would assume), better gearbox (potentially, the Getrag is awesome)

Just like how a GR FTO has smaller brakes than a GPX

If I was buying a Supra, it would be TT or nothing, same for a GTO, same for an RX7 (yes I do know that S6+ n/ a RX7's are like hens teeth, but they do exist...)

Maintenance cost shouldn't differ much from FTO. Given both are imports and not many mechanics dare to touch them.
FTO is a bitch to fix, given the cramped engine compartment and complexity of the engine.
Not sure about the supra.

What you can do are:
1)know your car limits
2)dont drive like an idiot to avoid paying fines
3)dont lose your job (if you are working)
4)learn to DIY

and you'll be fine! 8)
