Key stuck in ignition

Hi there

My key is stuck in the ignition, in that it will not move from ACC to LOCK to allow me to remove the key.

I guess there is a switch that controls this. Anyone got any idaes on where the switch is located.

Washo there is a thread on this topic as there are few people here that have had there key get stuck in the ignition me included do a search and you should find the thread(s).. my problem was a broken bit of metal in the ignition casing where the cable from the the gear lever joins the ignition..

Also make sure that the car is in park or it wont let you get the key out..

If it's an auto there's a good chance it's the switch when it goes into park. Was with mine.

loosen the steering column and jiggle it up and down a little, make sure the gear is on 'P'...
